William Guthrie was born in Ohio on 28 February 1819 and married in Adams County, Ohio on 2 February 1839 to Katy Emeline Boyles. Katy was the daughter of Thomas C Boyles II and his wife Anne Bonar, and born in Ohio, Virginia, now Ohio County, West Virginia. William and Katy raised their children in Adams County, Ohio. After William’s death in 1844, Katy remarried to Henry Vane in 1848, and they had several more children. Henry died in 1853, and Katy in 1887.

Martha Jane Guthrie was born in Adams County, Ohio on 22 August 1841. Martha’s eldest son Charles was initially listed with the Guthrie surname, and so may have been born out of wedlock. Listed under her first marriage. She was married 3 times and had children by all three husbands. Her first was to John Bryan between 1860-1863, presumably in Adams County. The second marriage was to William McDaniel on 10 Feb 1866. The third was to Joseph Brooks in West Union, Adams, OH on 9 Sep 1875. Within the next five years Martha Jane and Joe moved to Kentucky.

THOMAS FRANKLIN GUTHRIE

Frank was born on 26 June 1843 in Adams County, Ohio. A farmer, he was married 3 times. His first marriage was to Jemima Brumley about 1865. She was the mother of his 6 children. Jemima died in 1875, and so Frank remarried 2 years later to Sarah Jane Sparks (1839-1905). They moved to Kentucky. No children. After her death, it appears that Frank moved back to Manchester, Adams, Ohio, where he married a third time to Julia Elizabeth Sparks (1871-1914). Frank died in Manchester on 8 April 1911 and is buried at the Manchester IOOF Cemetery.

William Boyles Guthrie was born in Adams County, Ohio on 30 December 1844. He married Elizabeth Ann Dragoo in 1865, and they raised a large family of 9 children. He was a farmer. They settled in Tarkio, Atchison County, Missouri. William died there on 1 January 1904. Elizabeth died in 1930.
